Ozone was in the Good AQI range yesterday. Plentiful sunshine reigns over the Phoenix area this morning, and it will continue through the day. Ozone levels this afternoon will increase because of the sunshine and it will ride the upper Good/lower Moderate range. However, the trend for ozone will be to see decreases in daily values through early next week as more cloud cover comes by early Sunday and eventually more rainfall as well early next week.

Yesterday PM10 was in the Good AQI range. There could be a string of rain that comes through the Phoenix area Sunday afternoon, and an increase to PM10 has been added to show a potential for strong winds as the rain passes.

The start of the workweek is forecast to have more rain chances. This chance for steady rain will help moisten the surface and keep PM10 levels at bay, and it could limit the typical morning increases due to local activity from construction. Strong winds could be accompanied with the Mon/Tue rain, but it is too soon to include that with much confidence so that will be reviewed Monday. Through early next week, PM10 levels are forecast to remain in the Good AQI range. PM2.5 will have limited changes and will remain in the Good AQI category.
