Forecast Discussion:
Today (Friday) and Saturday, high pressure will bring a brief lull in the active weather, resulting in lighter winds around the region. PM10 (dust) and PM2.5 (smoke) will be locally driven.
Then, by Sunday, another low-pressure wave will begin moving into the West Coast from the Pacific Ocean. Yuma could see breezes out of the west Sunday and Monday evenings. Therefore, we can't rule out some dust moving into the area. Hourly forecast PM10 and PM2.5 have been increased to reflect this potential.
Moreover, rain may be possible on Monday, so any rain would help to reduce PM10 and PM2.5 levels.
Regarding ozone, ozone may increase some on Monday with the westerly winds. However, ozone is forecast in the Good AQI category each day for now.
